The United Nations has set Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Quality Education and Gender Equality, both of which have impact in education, including Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Education, includes Chemistry Chemical Engineering. To achieve these aspirations, some habitual obstacles must be overcome, not least the lack inclusive representation women STEM teaching resources, an issue all levels sector, Higher Education. A recent opportunity to teach catalysis catalytic reactors, a topic author substantial background, combined with desire contribute success SDGs provided platform address historical gender bias albeit only small way. At start delivery 20 h block over 6-week period, contemporary were discussed as part important contributions reactors chemical industries. highlighting engineering resonated students, this was reflected evaluations at end content. This prompted more targeted evaluation intervention showcasing engineering, reported positive on participating students. results that follow-up highlighted balance role models received positively.

This study explores the intricate dynamics between students' perceived value of learning chemistry (VAL), their attitudes toward (ATT), and achievement (ACH), with a particular focus on mediating role ATT moderating influence gender. Conducted cohort 211 grade 10 students across three schools in Bangkok, research employs survey method incorporating an test Chemical Basis Life alongside questionnaires measuring VAL. The mediation analysis reveals significant indirect effect VAL ACH through ATT, highlighting pivotal shaping achievement. finding is crucial as it suggests that fostering positive may serve effective strategy to elevate science performance, even if direct impact not substantial. model's robust fit reinforces reliability these outcomes. Additionally, moderation investigates gender's this educational context. data show correlation for all genders, indicating intrinsic assign positively correlates irrespective similar trends genders suggest does differ significantly boys girls. Overall, underscores importance cultivating constructive attitude enhance outcomes affirms gender value-achievement relationship sample.
