Isosteviol and its derivatives, diterpene compounds with a wide range of biological activities, play important antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, antitumor, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antifungal, anticardiovascular disease roles. Because unique skeleton, isosteviol is frequently used as an active framework in drug synthesis, thus helping medicinal chemists design highly selective, potentially active, multifunctional analogs for the treatment various diseases. In recent years, rapid developments synthesis derivatives have proven effective field chemistry research. This article briefly reviews novel obtained through structural modification isosteviol, including their pharmacological to provide reference development new synthetic strategies construction guide preclinical studies drugs greater efficacy.

To discover novel inhibitors of the complex I reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) oxidoreductase as fungicides, a series 6-isothiazol-5-ylpyrimidin-4-amine-containing compounds were designed using computer-aided pesticide design method and splicing substructures from diflumetorim isotianil. In vitro fungicidal bioassays indicated that

Cardioprotection is a term describing the myocardial property to protect itself from injury, particularly in context of ischemia-reperfusion injury and other metabolic stresses. Recently, isosteviol, diterpene derived hydrolysis stevioside, natural sweetener found leaves Stevia rebaudiana plant, has emerged as potential cardioprotective compound. In addition many therapeutic benefits including antihyperglycemic, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory effects, recent studies have suggested that this compound might properties well. It been demonstrated isosteviol possesses antioxidant activities, while also regulating ion channels mitochondrial activity. The effects are mediated through its interaction with multiple signaling pathways. Pre-clinical work regulates NF-cB, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt (PI3K/Akt) pathways, adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), all which well-established All these findings highlight isosteviol's agent. However, needs be further tested randomized controlled trials, along examining possible value clinical practice, defining optimal dosing strategies, understanding long-term effects.
