Abstract The construction of C−N bond at the α ‐position BODIPYs (boron dipyrromethene) not only enables flexible reactivity but also leads to strong electron‐donating properties. In this study, a base‐promoted oxidative cross‐dehydrogenative coupling was developed synthesize ‐amino with air as green oxidant. By strategy, series weak nitrogen nucleophiles, such heteroaryl and aryl anilines, were installed ‐position. Remarkably, pyrrole, pyrazole indole employed realize synthesis ‐heteroaryl through direct functionalization. Further aggregation‐induced emission enhancement (AIE) properties lipid droplet‐targeting bioimaging experiments representative dyes demonstrated their potential applications organic probes.
