Abstract
Synthesis
of
imidazo[2,1‐
b
][1,3]benzothiazoles
by
oxidative
coupling
2‐aminobenzothiazoles
with
vicinal
diol
was
reported.
Expectedly,
a
combination
potassium
persulfate
and
TEMPO
oxidized
ethylene
glycol
to
α‐hydroxy
acetaldehyde,
which
coupled
2‐aminobenzothiazole
afford
2,3‐unsubstituted
][1,3]benzothiazoles.
The
later
exploited
as
reliable
handle
access
3‐substituted
regioselectively.

Abstract
Benzothiazole‐doped
porous
organic
polymers
(
POP‐MBTS
)
were
synthesized
from
a
copolymerization
reaction
of
2‐(6‐(4‐vinylphenyl)pyridin‐2‐yl)benzo[

]thiazole
with
divinylbenzene.
The
corresponding
POP‐MBTS‐Ir
was
obtained

fully
characterized
