Abstract This paper emphasizes the critical role of electrolyte selection in enhancing electrochemical performance nonaqueous Li‐O 2 batteries (LOBs). It provides a comprehensive overview various types and their effects on for LOBs, offering insights future screening design. Despite recent advancements, current systems exhibit inadequate stability, necessitating urgent quest an ideal electrolyte. Such should demonstrate superior physicochemical particularly presence superoxide radicals (O − ), with high oxygen solubility, rapid diffusion rates, capability to form stable SEI film lithium anode. The advocates further research three key areas: suitable electrolytes, construction electrode/electrolyte interfaces, mechanistic exploration byproduct formation. Addressing these challenges will advance development technology paving way its commercialization broad application.
