In this study, photonic balls─spherical aggregates of submicrometer-sized silica particles with uniform particle size─were investigated as structural colored materials. The color these balls is influenced by the ordered arrangement particles. research focused on how addition electrolytes, specifically NaCl, affects formation to achieve desired color. Without formed onion-shaped colloidal crystals. At NaCl concentrations above 0.006 mol/L, aggregated into short-range structures. When concentration exceeded 0.05 lost their spherical shape. study also explored carbon black (CB), a water-dispersible material due its surface charge. findings revealed that induced phase separation between charged and CB, resulting in Janus-shaped balls─one side exhibiting other appearing presence CB. Changing size altered hues balls, though they appeared uniformly naked eye. While did not examine applications composed CB known for ability absorb near-infrared radiation convert it heat well conductive properties. Silica, hand, has low thermal conductivity acts an electrical insulator. structurally created may serve pigments requiring anisotropic generation conduction. Additionally, study's suggest potential creating various types from materials differing densities.
