Electrochemical CO2 reduction is crucial in combatting climate change and advancing sustainable energy practices by converting into valuable chemicals fuels, thereby reducing atmospheric levels enabling the storage utilization of renewable from intermittent sources like solar wind. The selection electrode materials platform design plays a critical role enhancing reaction efficiency product selectivity during reduction. Various metals, both their solid forms coated over substrates, have been used electrochemical CO2RR. In this study, we utilized electrodeposition to modify plastic chip (PCE), depositing lead metal onto it through galvanostatic method at current density 100 mA/cm2 0.1 M Pb(NO3)2 aqueous solution. Pb-coated electrodes are due high selectivity, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, flexibility as materials. Their good stability durability make them ideal for long-term applications. carbon dioxide using Pb/PCE cathode has investigated, focusing on assessing how different electrolysis potentials influenced faradaic formic acid production. Our results demonstrated that peak reaching 86.2%, was achieved −0.7 V vs RHE 5 h period.
