Copper and alloys suffer from severe corrosion during acid picking cleaning in the industry. In this study, inhibition of copper sulfuric solution was inspired by turtle shape-like bis-Schiff bases bearing fatty chain linkers (BSBs 1-3), which were synthesized a natural analogue vanillin under mild conditions. The chemical structures BSBs fully identified, presence hydrogen bonding confirmed. target display affinity to surface using Schiff base parts (like feet), thus, could resist aggressive species invading shell). resistance mechanism for investigated experimentally 0.5 M H2SO4 solution. results show that might significantly inhibit efficiencies 1-3 maximized at concentration 1.00 mM 298 K, reached 97.99, 96.22, 94.58%, respectively. It is shown effect increased with an increase length linkers, consistent order strength. adsorption anticorrosion mechanisms molecules analyzed. presented study provide experimental insight engineering new efficient, low-cost, environmentally friendly inhibitors through simple preparation compounds as starting molecules.
