Abstract Wetting behaviors can significantly affect the transport of energy and signal (E&S) through vapor, solid, liquid interfaces, which has prompted increased interest in interfacial science technology. E&S transmission be achieved using electricity, light, heat, often accompany interact with each other. Over past decade, their distinctive phenomena during wetting processes have made significant contributions to various domains. However, few studies analyzed intricate relationship between behavior transport. This review summarizes discusses mechanisms electrical, heat at interfaces elucidate respective scientific issues, technical characteristics, challenges, commonalities, potential for technological convergence. The materials, structures, devices involved transportation are also analyzed. Particularly, harnessing synergistic advantages practical applications constructing advanced, multifunctional, highly efficient smart systems based on wetted is aim provide strategies.

Liquid droplets on superheated surfaces produce the Leidenfrost effect. This phenomenon might lead to droplet manipulation and control strategies in microfluidics thermal management. However, move randomly irregularly manufacturing of special movement poses great challenges. Here, we propose a simple environment-friendly method create heterogeneously wetting surface structures spin motion brass using femtosecond laser patterning. The water contact angle superhydrophobic area was ∼160°, superhydrophilic showed ∼7°. A z-shaped pattern fabricated, which segmented vapor film influenced gas flow, it resulted spinning oval-shaped analogous egg. We used simulation explain this also expanded application accelerating dissolution solids mechanical driving. study provides basis for creative phenomenon, has broad implications steam-driven future fluid manipulation.

Crude oil spill accidents cause extreme environmental damage, with huge economic costs that include the loss of resources. Despite advances in conventional cleanup technology, such as dispersants, absorbents, and skimmers, there is still a need for more efficient solutions. In this study, we introduce Joule-heated stearic acid/carbon nanotube-wrapped polyurethane sponge (SCPU) rapid all-weather recovery leaked crude oil. SCPU both hydrophobic oleophilic electrically conductive. When 6 V were applied across SCPU, surface temperature increased to 146 °C within 70 s, which reduced viscosity shortened time by over 99%. addition, can continuously recover floating on water when connected peristaltic pump. This has high adsorption capacity, scalable preparation method, mechanically stable, thus expected provide an practical solution responding accidents.

A disordered porous structure with nanoclusters on nickel superalloy is created using femtosecond laser ablation, optimized parameters for antireflection in the midinfrared range. Horizontal line scanning at 10 μm spacing and 50 mm s −1 speed yields best performance 0.041% reflectance. The structure's large‐scale span high porosity aid wave absorption. Micron‐scale protrusions enhance reflection, nanostructure density impacting single reflection rates. Micron structures primarily drive antireflection, while nanostructures assist.
