Abstract A cobalt‐catalyzed addition of hydrosilanes to unsaturated carbon‐oxygen bonds has been developed, relying on complexes featuring easily accessible and inexpensive PNP‐type pincer ligands. wide range heterocyclic, aliphatic, aromatic ketones, including those containing both electron‐donating electron‐withdrawing substituents, were transformed into silyl ethers or secondary alcohols with high yields. An important feature this protocol is that silanes can act as the substrates activators, eliminating need for external additives such strong bases.

Abstract Reducing nitro compounds to amines is a fundamental reaction in producing valuable chemicals industry. Herein, the synthesis and characterization of zirconium metal‐organic framework‐supported salicylaldimine‐cobalt(II) chloride (salim‐UiO‐CoCl) its application catalytic reduction are reported. Salim‐UiO‐Co displayed excellent activity chemoselective aromatic aliphatic corresponding presence phenylsilane as reducing agent under mild conditions. catalyzed had broad substrate scope with tolerance diverse functional groups, including easily reducible ones such aldehyde, keto, nitrile, alkene. MOF catalyst could be recycled reused at least 14 times without noticeable losing selectivity. Density theory (DFT) studies along spectroscopic analysis were employed get into comprehensive investigation mechanism. This work underscores significance MOF‐supported single‐site base‐metal catalysts for sustainable cost‐effective chemical feedstocks fine chemicals.
