Abstract Dialkyl phosphites (DAPIs), traditionally prepared from hazardous and corrosive PCl 3 , are the fundamental reactive starting materials used in organophosphorus chemistry. Here, a KBr‐mediated synthesis of DAPIs involving P 4 alcohols water is presented. With use silica gel as catalyst, oxone safe oxidant, industrially important (EtO) 2 P(O)H, (i‐PrO) P(O)H (MeO) 70–90% yields. Furthermore, rare metal extractant bis(2‐ethylhexyl) phosphate (D2EHPA) obtained 73% yield. The reaction characterized by complete conversion white phosphorus. Moreover, this method can be easily adapted to large‐scale preparation. magnified image

Abstract A regioselective, operationally simple and scalable protocol was developed for the synthesis of 9,10‐bis(organochalcogenyl)phenanthrenes seleno‐spiro[cyclohexane‐1,1′‐indene]‐2,5‐dien‐4‐ones through cyclization (biphenyl‐2‐alkyne)chalcogenides. The reaction occurs in presence diorganyl diselenides, Oxone® as a green oxidizing agent, acetonitrile at 80 °C. In this study, 20 compounds were obtained yields up to 97 % short times (1–4 h).
