An efficient heterogeneous catalytic system for the [4+2] annulation reactions between tertiary anilines and tetrahydrofuran has been developed based on CuCoFe layered double oxide in study. Cu+ species was believed to play crucial role transformation, synergistic effect Cu CoFe observed reaction. Various could be tolerated by present system. A series of control experiments were conducted determine reaction intermediates. distinctive mechanism described these results kinetic isotopic effects experiments.

Abstract A Ruthenium(II) catalyzed additive‐free oxidative, dehydrogenative annulation of different malemides on 3,4‐disubstituted isoquinolone to afford fused and spiro‐cyclized isoquinolo‐isoquinolone isoindolo‐isoquinolone derivatives is reported here. By simply changing solvent oxidizing agents, under two conditions, this methodology produced poly‐N‐heterocyclized products. Isoquinolone‐NH was strategically used as the internal directing group in ortho C−H activation using Ru(II) catalyst. Mechanistically dehydrogenative, oxidative C−C followed by C−N cross‐coupling aza‐michael reaction pathway led corresponding spiro‐products respectively. diversified library eighty‐one (81) such products were synthesized employing methodology. The spirocyclized polyheterocyclic compounds absorbed at λ max 240–270 nm range, however only spiro‐compounds blue fluorescence em 391–450 range.

Methods for using commercially available copper ferrite nanoparticles organic transformations have witnessed emerging development. Herein we expand the application of such material heterogeneously catalytic annulation N,N-dimethylaniline and maleimides to yield tetrahydroquinolines. Using developed conditions, a 73% tetrahydroquinoline derived from N-benzylmaleimide 4,N,N-trimethylaniline was isolated. Derivatives bearing fluoro, thiophenyl, alpha-methylbenzyl groups were also obtained with yields varying 54% 80%. The could be easily separated after reaction showed nearly identical XRD result compare that fresh material.
