Carbon dots (CDs) are new carbon nanomaterials, among which those prepared from biomass popular due to their excellent optical properties and environmental friendliness. As representative natural phenolic compounds, tea polyphenols ideal precursors with fluorescent aromatic rings hydroxyl structures. Usually, polyphenolic can only be used produce blue or green CDs, fluorescence in long wavelength domains, such as orange red, cannot achieved. Herein, the high reactivity of groups o-phthalaldehyde was exploited modulate pH during carbonation process, led redshifts wavelengths. Different values reaction caused take different paths form exhibiting conjugated structures, resulting providing colors. Finally, by utilizing situ hydrolysis ethyl orthosilicate, polyphenol-based were embedded into a silica matrix, inducing phosphorescence dots. This study provides approach for preparation application CDs.

Composite materials that combine quantum dots and photonic crystals can produce some complex anti-counterfeiting patterns, which solves the problems of simple encoded information low levels monochromatic materials. Here, we prepared a type carbon dots/silicon dioxide (CDs/SiO2) fluorescent crystal with both angle-dependent structural color fluorescence properties. First, silica nanospheres 220, 250, 280 nm were using Stöber method by changing ethanol amount. Then, monodispersed CDs/SiO2 composite synthesized one-pot microwave hydrothermal method. The surface morphology, monodispersity, phase structure, other properties explored. Experiments showed thin film formed after natural deposition microspheres had green while retaining original color. In addition, intensity was significantly improved compared to CDs. This study provides valuable experimental scheme for preparing multifunctional ideas expanding application fields crystals.

Textile dyeing based on structural colors has attracted great attention due to its environmental friendliness and long-lasting color fastness. However, most studies colored fabrics focus only improving the stability of fabric, neglecting increasing demand for multifunctional textiles in daily life. Herein, a simple effective method was used preparing conductive cotton with nonangle-dependent dynamic thermal management. To prepare nanospheres higher rendering, PMMA were coated black PDA. The fabric obtained by self-assembling PMMA@PDA onto MXene-modified through blade coating method. prepared textile retains softness demonstrates good electrothermal performance durable fastness washing, friction, durability tests. This work provides novel approach creating bifunctional that are suitable applications.

Abstract Integration of photoluminescence (PL), especially the long‐lived room‐temperature phosphorescence (RTP), into periodic submicron structures to build multi‐optical morphology photonic crystals (PCs) is a trend for future optical devices but has proven extremely challenging. Here, an emerging general strategy fabricating three‐optical (tri‐state) SiO 2 ‐based PCs by calcining monodisperse nanospheres with carbon dots (CDs) encapsulated inside reported.
