Although organic–inorganic hybrid one-dimensional (1D) lead halide postperovskites (LHPPs) have been reported to show white luminescence and tunable photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), their structure–property relationships are not fully understood. Here, we used Mn2+ test the doping effect on of two 1D-LHPPs compounds, namely, {TETA[Pb2Br6]}n 1 {TETA[Pb2Cl6]}n 2, where TETA = triethylenetetrammonium. We found pristine compounds yellowish (551 nm) bluish (447 emission for respectively, nanosecond excitation lifetimes (4.17 ns 2.29 2) low PLQYs (4.65 3.57% respectively). By fine-doping ions ca. 8% 2 maximized 24 25% respectively. Upon increasing dopant, wavelengths can also vary gradually from 551 615 nm 447 660 covering almost whole visible-light range, enhanced microseconds (0.77 μs 0.39 2), owing more spin-forbidden d-d transition (4T1-6A1) component present in spectra. Moreover, these Mn2+-doped demonstrate high structural optical stability humid high-temperature environments. Hence, such doped materials be fabricated into a UV-pumped light-emitting diode, rendering potential application solid-state lighting display systems
