Carbon
dots
(CDs)
are
fluorescent
carbon
nanomaterials
that
considered
for
applications
in
optoelectronics,
sensorics,
and
biofields
due
to
their
low‐cost
robust
synthesis,
versatile
optical
properties.
Herein,
it
is
demonstrated
how
chemical
functionalization
of
hydrophilic
or
amphiphilic
CDs
with
polyethylene
glycol
influences
energy
level
structure
hence
the
emission
Functionalization
results
an
increase
quantum
yield:
from
30%
75%
20%
25%
CDs.
The
estimated
absolute
values
levels,
including
highest
occupied
molecular
orbital
lowest
unoccupied
energies,
dependent
on
composition
size
Moreover,
glycol‐functionalized
CD
can
form
good
quality
films
based
composite
polyvinylcarbazole
(PVK),
together
intense
crucial
light‐emitting
diode
(LED)
fabrication.
By
studying
spectral
properties
fabricated
CD‐LEDs,
shown
electroluminescence
(EL)
originates
mixed
levels
PVK
composite,
resulting
shifting
EL
maximum
blue
green
during
several
seconds
LED
operation.
optimized
CD‐LEDs
show
brightness
up
2600
cd
m
−2
.

Liquid-like
nanomaterials
are
emerging
as
unique
nanolubricating
materials
due
to
their
combined
advantages
of
fluidity
and
nanoscale
size.
However,
development
application
have
been
hindered
by
relatively
complex
synthesis
processes.
Herein,
a
one-step
method
for
synthesizing
liquid-like
carbon
dots
(LCDs)
was
developed
introducing
ammonium
salts
into
citric
acid–based
system.
Compared
solid
(CDs)
synthesized
with
acid,
LCDs
exhibit
characteristics,
which
were
further
explored
through
molecular
simulations.
When
used
additives
in
lubricating
grease,
demonstrate
excellent
tribological
performance,
including
friction
reduction,
antiwear
properties,
improved
load-carrying
capacity.
This
study
not
only
introduces
simple
cost-effective
strategy
producing
LCDs,
advancing
the
CDs
but
also
expands
understanding
grease.

methacrylate-grafted
CDs
(CDs-PLMA-m,

hydrocarbons,

CDs-PLMA-m

colloidal

ball-on-plate
sliding
friction
tests
proved
that

%
CDs-PLMA-1
markedly
lessened
wear
and
PAO
by
53.0
40.0%,
respectively.

attenuate

when

oxidation
resistance

antiwear
