Developing powerful immunoassays for sensitive and real-time detection of targets has always been a challenging task. Due to their advantages direct readout, controllable sensing, low background interference, photothermal have become type new technology that can be used various applications such as disease diagnosis, environmental monitoring, food safety. By modification with antibodies, materials induce temperature changes by converting light energy into heat, thereby reporting specific target recognition events. This article reviews the design application based on different materials, including noble metal nanomaterials, carbon-based two-dimensional oxide sulfide Prussian blue nanoparticles, small organic molecules, polymers, etc. It pays special attention role working principle immunoassays. Additionally, challenges prospects future development are briefly discussed.

Ensuring food safety is a critical concern worldwide, necessitating the development of advanced technologies for effective detection and mitigation contaminants. Multifunctional magnetic nanoparticles (MMNPs) have emerged as highly promising tools in analysis due to their unique properties such superparamagnetism, large surface area, easy functionalization. MMNPs can significantly enhance sensitivity specificity analytical methods, enabling rapid efficient pathogens, toxins, chemical residues, allergens samples. This chapter discusses fundamentals applications safety, including role separation, biosensors, spectroscopic electrochemical detection. The advantages MMNPs, high sensitivity, analysis, minimal sample preparation, are highlighted, along with challenges related stability, cost, regulatory compliance. Future perspectives on integrating IoT machine learning also explored, emphasizing potential real-time monitoring predictive analytics safety.
