The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant global impact, affecting societies and economies worldwide. As the virus continues to spread rapidly, need for rapid accurate detection become crucial. This necessity highlights importance of diagnostic methods that are rapid, efficient, cost-effective, universally available. chapter initially provides brief overview structure, mode infection, potential biomarkers COVID-19. Current diagnostics elaborated, focusing on their principles, materials used, cost, technical limitations. Next, we explore strategies overcome limitations present approaches. Finally, discuss low-cost COVID-19, principles detection, sensing schemes, limits detection.

The development of nanozymes has emerged as a promising pathway for combating bacterial infections. In this work, Ag/Schiff base are obtained through the in situ reduction method on [2 + 3] Schiff macrocycles using eco-friendly reductant α-tocopherol. silver prepared was found to be nanoscale by TEM, and Ag NPs grew dispersed uniformly surface macrocycle due abundance C═N double bonds. peroxidase-like catalytic activity evaluated toward 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) presence H2O2, Km values 0.350 0.090 mM confirm strong affinity H2O2 TMB. Moreover, nanozyme exhibited good antibacterial properties against Streptococcus sanguinis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, vivo tests confirmed that had negligible biotoxicity. Benefiting from antimicrobial biosafety properties, were explored prepare films, inhibition zones demonstrated introduction could prevent growth bacteria.
