Graphitic carbon nitride materials have attracted significant interest in recent years and found applications diverse light-to-energy conversions such as artificial photosynthesis, CO2 reduction, or degradation of organic pollutants. However, their utilization synthetic photocatalysis, especially the direct functionalization C(sp3)–H bonds, remains underexplored. Herein, we report mesoporous graphitic (mpg-CN) a heterogeneous semiconductor photocatalyst for arylation bonds combination with nickel catalysis. Our protocol has broad scope (>70 examples including late-stage drugs agrochemicals), is operationally simple, shows high chemo- regioselectivities. Facile separation recycling mpg-CN catalyst its low preparation cost, innate photochemical stability, toxicity are beneficial features overcoming typical shortcomings homogeneous photocatalysis. Detailed mechanistic investigations kinetic studies indicate that an unprecedented energy-transfer process (EnT) from to complex operating.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are appealing platforms for photocatalysts because of their structural diversity and adjustable optical band gaps. The construction efficient COFs heterogeneous photocatalysis transformations is highly desirable. Herein, we constructed a photoactive COF containing benzothiadiazole triazine (BTDA–TAPT), which the morphology crystallinity might be easily tuned by slight synthetic variation. To unveil relationship photocatalytic properties between structure morphology, analogous were synthesized precisely tailoring building blocks. Systematic investigations indicated that tuning greatly impact photoelectric properties. BTDA–TAPT featuring ordered alignment perfect crystalline nature was more beneficial promoting charge transfer separation, exhibited superior activity visible light-driven oxidative coupling amines. Outcomes from this study reveal intrinsic synergy effects photocatalysis.

Currently, nitrogen fertilizers feed half of the global population, but their use is limited by energy consumption and transportation. Therefore, it important to study photocatalysts for in solar fertilizers. Herein, a new type graphene-embedded Ce-based UiO-66 (Ce-UiO-66) photocatalyst (GSCe) investigated. Ce-UiO-66 activated breakage benzene-C bonds formation active sites ultraviolet light water. Moreover, embedding graphene effectively controls activation improves fixation. GSCe exhibited remarkable apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) 9.25 % stability under 365 nm with solar-level intensity. also performed well as ammonia fertilizer crop cultivation. This investigation opens up opportunities fixation be used environmentally friendly
