Abstract Palladium‐catalyzed carbonylative reactions, used as a tool for the insertion of carbonyl group into organic moieties, is synthetically useful transformation. Carbonylative Sonogashira coupling convenient approach synthesis α,β‐acetylenic ketones which are important class molecules in pharmaceutical and industrial fields. Development greener approaches environmentally benign catalytic systems put forward enormous opportunities this field moreover, these researches indicate formation heterocycles via carbonylation strategy, major highlight. Herein, we discuss progress achieved palladium‐catalyzed from 2013 to 2024 its future prospects.

In this work, we have developed a green and sustainable strategy for the synthesis of ethylene glycol, which is highly valuable compound in chemical industry. contrast to currently applied energy-intensive process based on petroleum resources, work demonstrates photocatalytic pathway methanol dehydrogenative coupling produce utilizing methyl tert-butyl ether as substrate protect hydroxyl group against oxidation. Photocatalytic tests reveal efficient C-C with Pt/C-TiO(B)-650 catalyst under light irradiation, target product 1,2-di-tert-butoxyethane at selectivity 67% Pt-based turnover frequency 2754 h-1. Scale up test high stability system, reaching an accumulated number 120 000 well isolation 13 g after 130 h irradiation. The glycol obtained by hydrolysis dimer using regenerable acidic resin catalyst.

The development of efficient methods for the direct introduction a methyl group into molecules is becoming increasingly important. Herein, β-methylation primary alcohols with methanol has been accomplished under environmentally benign conditions using [Cp*Ir(2,2′-bpyO)(H2O)] as catalyst. It was found that functional groups in ligand are crucially important activity iridium complex. Furthermore, mechanistic research and application potential our catalytic system also presented.

Abstract We have developed a transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes and ketones with B2(OH)4 as reductant amphiphilic resin-dispersed palladium nanoparticles catalyst system in an aqueous medium, where water also serves hydrogen donor. A variety ketones, including aliphatic carbonyl compounds, reacted to give the corresponding primary secondary alcohols, respectively. The was recovered by filtration reused 9 times without significant loss its catalytic activity.

Abstract Methanol is gaining popularity as a transfer-hydrogenating agent in catalytic reduction reactions because of its bulk-scale production and inexpensive nature. Current research interests include the utilization methanol safe sustainable hydrogen source for chemical synthesis drug development. In particular, chemoselective α,β-unsaturated ketones great interest their prevalence many natural products. We investigated potential application acridine-derived SNS-Ru pincer complexes activation chalcones. Our developed system showed broad substrate tolerance, including substrates containing reducible functional groups. Control experiments postsynthetic applications are also highlighted.
