This study aimed to investigate the kinetics of heterogeneous reactions six biogenic secondary organic aerosol (BSOA) markers atmospheric interest, i.e. terebic, terpenylic, cis-pinonic, pinic, 3-methyl-1,2,3-butanetricarboxylic (MBTCA) and β-caryophyllinic acids. For this purpose, these compounds were individually adsorbed onto silica model particles exposed either solar irradiation, hydroxyl radicals, or ozone. Marker concentrations extracted from subsequently analyzed by liquid chromatography coupled quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-QTOF/MS). Pseudo-first-order rate constants derived simulations (using exponential functions tangent slope at t0) particulate marker concentration decays as a function exposure time different oxidants light. Second-order calculated considering oxidant under experimental conditions. The overall lifetime each was calculated, revealing that acid is most reactive compound studied, with <14.3 min, followed cis-pinonic (8.6 h), MBTCA (19 pinic (>2.8 days), terpenylic (>4.8 terebic (>5.8 years). This work confirms stability some BSOA insufficient, justify their relevance tracers particle formation aging processes.
