European
sea
bass
(Dicentrarchus
labrax)
is
one
of
the
most
significant
species
farmed
in
Mediterranean,
yet
a
very
perishable
product.
Its
quality
deteriorates
rapidly
as
result
three
mechanisms:
microbial
activity,
chemical
oxidation,
and
enzymatic
degradation.
Microbial
spoilage
mechanism
that
contributes
to
deterioration
fresh
non-processed
fish.
To
this
end,
our
study
aims
identify
for
first
time
combined
effect
aquatic
environment
harvest
method
on
composition
trajectory
at
storage
0
°C
skin
microbiome.
Sampling
was
performed
two
commercial
fish
farms
Western
(WG)
Central
Greece
(CG)
where
were
harvested
using
different
methods:
direct
immersion
ice
water
or
mixture
slurry
ice;
application
electro-stunning
prior
water.
Samples
collected
day
week
post-harvest.
profile
bacterial
communities
skin,
16S
ribosomal
RNA
gene
sequencing
used.
The
results
following
analyses
indicated
shaped
original
microbiome,
with
815
ASVs
identified
WG
farm
opposed
362
CG
farm.
Moreover,
Pseudomonas
Pseudoalteromonas
dominated
microbiome
farm,
unlike
Shewanella
Psychrobacter
dominant
genera.
All
these
genera
contain
such
putrefaciens,
aeruginosa,
spp.,
sp.,
all
which
have
been
implicated
final
methods
drove
variations
already
by
environment,
favoring
more
diversity
combination
appeared
determine
