Motivated by applications to water quality monitoring using fluorescence spectroscopy, we develop the source apportionment model for high dimensional profiles of dissolved organic matter (DOM). We describe simple methods estimate parameters a linear model, and show how estimates are related those ordinary generalized least squares. Using this squares framework, analyze variability estimates, propose predictors missing elements DOM profile. demonstrate practical utility our results on spectroscopy data collected from Neuse River in North Carolina.
