Organic dyes play vital roles in the textile industry, while discharge of organic dye wastewater production and utilization has caused significant damage to aquatic ecosystem. This review aims summarize mechanisms photocatalysis, sonocatalysis, sonophotocatalysis treatment recent advances catalyst development, with a focus on synergistic effect ultrasound light catalytic degradation dyes. The performance TiO2-based catalysts for photocatalytic, sonocatalytic, sonophotocatalytic systems is compared. With light, generally performs much better than sonocatalysis or photocatalysis alone pollutant degradation, yet it higher energy requirement. Future research directions are proposed expand fundamental knowledge process enhance its practical application degrading wastewater.

Abstract The demand for the exploration of highly active and durable electro/photocatalysts renewable energy conversion has experienced a significant surge in recent years. Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), by virtue their high porosity, large surface area, modifiable metal centers ligands, have gained tremendous attention demonstrated promising prospects electro/photocatalytic conversion. However, small pore sizes limited sites 3D bulk MOFs hinder wide applications. Developing 2D with tailored thickness aspect ratio emerged as an effective approach to meet these challenges, offering density exposed sites, better mechanical stability, assembly flexibility, shorter charge photoexcited state transfer distances compared MOFs. In this review, synthesis methods most up‐to‐date are first overviewed, highlighting respective advantages disadvantages. Subsequently, systematic analysis is conducted on identification electronic structure modulation catalytic applications conversion, including electrocatalysis photocatalysis (electro/photocatalysis). Lastly, current challenges future development toward efficient practical electro/photocatalysis proposed.
