Melittin,
a
natural
peptide
found
in
bees,
has
been
shown
to
induce
pore
formation
cell
membranes.

its
artificial
mutant,
MelP5
can
do
so
at
concentrations

times
lower
than
melittin.

mechanism

enhanced
