ABSTRACT Tetrachlorobisphenol A (TCBPA) is a kind of fire retardant extensively used in our life, but it can accumulate organisms and potentially have toxic effects. Transferrin (TF) glycoprotein predominantly present the blood plasma, serving as an essential mediator for transportation iron other small molecules. In study, various techniques including multi‐spectroscopic molecular docking were employed to examine interaction between TCBPA TF. The TF–TCBPA complex was formed with binding constant ( K ) 2.181 ± 0.035 × 10 4 M −1 at 298 K. Δ H S all negative, which means dominant driving forces van der Waals H‐bonds. secondary structure TF changed by TCBPA, resulting decline α‐helix structure, corresponding increase β‐sheet structure. revealed that positioned within pocket TF, engaged interactions some amino acid residues through different forces. Importantly, Tyr426/Asp392/His585 implies interferes ions vivo. All above results indicated adverse effects on activity should be more attention.

Abstract Novel‐protein‐derived carbon dots have recently been reported with high biocompatibility, superior spatial resolution, photobleaching resistance, customizability, and no post‐synthesis conjugation requirement. These nanoparticles bring new capabilities in bioimaging targeted therapeutics. Protein‐based contain a core surface groups from the protein that can retain molecular recognition properties. In this work, systematic study of synthesis conditions to tune nanoparticle function is presented. Bovine serum albumin used as model simulate what parameter alterations yield valuable changes such red‐shifted photoluminescence, specific size distribution, chemistry functionalization. The dissociation constant, K D also calculated, for BSA‐derived NPs simulated 1:1 protein‐ligand binding at equilibrium. It found increased temperatures generally led higher quantum yields more CDs believed be due larger diameters, while nitrogen doping decreased. However, when using microwave radiation, are has 2.5–4.4% increase nitrogen, resulting most highest samples. Oven samples possessed 1.6–17.5x lower compared Understanding effects these parameters on CD characteristics enables scientists rationally design properties applications.
