Cortisol is a clinically validated stress biomarker that takes part in many physiological and psychological functions related to the body's response factors. In particular, it has emerged as pivotal tool for understanding levels overall well-being. Usually, clinics, cortisol are monitored blood or urine, but significant changes also registered sweat saliva. this work, surface plasmon resonance probe based on D-shaped plastic optical fiber was functionalized with glucocorticoid receptor exploited highly efficient bioreceptor specific cortisol. The developed biosensor tested detection buffer artificial showed very good selectivity towards other hormones limit of about 59 fM 96 phosphate saline saliva, respectively. obtained limit, rapid time (about 5 min) low-cost sensor system, paved way determining concentration saliva samples without any extraction process sample pretreatment via point-of-care test.
