The present work aimed to identify the major antioxidants in honey, propolis, and pollen from Jataí (Tetragonisca angustula angustula) Mandaçaia (Melipona quadrifasciata Lep.) bees relate them with plant species. Pollen showed antioxidant activity up 10 times greater than honey 8 bee presenting higher values for DPPH propolis samples. Total phenolic contents presented similar results. A variety of saccharides was found by ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry. Saccharides, terpenoids, lignans, compounds, flavonoids were while pollen. resulted more kaempferol p-coumaric acid high-performance ultraviolet visibility Jataí. In contrast, quercetin Mandaçaia. Bacterial infections represent a prevalent issue in healthcare settings. The indiscriminate use of antibiotics has contributed to the proliferation antibiotic-resistant bacteria and complicating treatment such infections. Based on this, there arises pressing need for alternative drugs accelerate diverse array Gram-negative Gram-positive without inducing adverse side effects. In response this need, we have developed chitosan (CS)/polyethylene oxide (PEO) nanofibers loaded with propolis extract using electrospinning technique. We conducted an assessment antibacterial antibiofilm activities Chitosan/PEO varying concentrations against both bacterial strains. demonstrated significant activity Staphylococcus aureus, epidermidis, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Additionally, according results obtained from Congo red biofilm test, optimal concentration nanofibrous mats exhibited substantial effect S. E. faecalis. However, P.aeruginosa displayed growth formed relatively weak biofilm. nanofiber scaffolds also moderate while displaying weaker aeruginosa Tissue Culture Plate test. summary, biocompatible extract-loaded exhibit promising potential as effective wound dressings.

The aim of this study is to design a therapeutic enhanced three-dimensional (3D) silk fibroin (SF)-based scaffold containing propolis (Ps)-loaded chitosan (CH) nanocarriers. To aim, we initially synthesized hybrid gel-based ink by synergistic sol-gel and self-assembly approach then processed the resulting gels microextrusion-based 3D printing followed supercritical drying obtain aerogel scaffolds. Ps was utilized enhance final scaffold's bactericidal efficacy cell responsiveness. For synthesis scaffold, two loading methods (in preprint postprinting steps) were investigated in order optimize drug quantities maximize antibacterial properties scaffold. In step, silica-oxidized SF (SFO)-CH hydrogel printed into construct with an interconnected porous structure, then, loaded construct. method, PS incorporated hydrolyzed silane solution prior gelation. morphological studies demonstrate that addition encapsulated CH nanoparticles (NPs) improved porosity developed rheological analysis designed gel without release kinetics studied. antimicrobial results show Ps-loaded scaffolds step exhibited superior activity against

Diabetes mellitus (DM) hyperglycemia may lead to hyperplasia and micro vascular dysfunction delays wound healing process by increasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) accompanied low levels of inflammatory cytokines an increase in matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Consequently, prolonged with the worst complication diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) as when it fails heal fating limb amputation. Apitherapeutic (honey propolis) dressing achieved successful accelerated infection control action their antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties. The present review dealt activity DFUs study of: vitro antimicrobial against isolated pathogens, towards immune cellular elements vivo application for induced animal models well topical patients either natural or nanoformulated scaffold dressings. Available literatures proved synergistic different mixed apitherapeutic products together recommended be used formula naturally nanoformulation.
