Abstract Herein, the effects of varied concentrations an organic peroxide and maleic anhydride (MA) on grafting percentage as well amount gel content, rheological, thermal properties MA‐grafted‐poly(butylene succinate‐co‐adipate) (PBSA) were analyzed. The was performed by melt extrusion processing. MA onto PBSA polymer chains successfully confirmed through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, MA‐grafting quantified back titration. Increasing initiator content increased peak intensity (at 1780 cm −1 ) associated with grafted saturated moieties backbone. Higher directly influenced percentage, reaching to maximum degree 2.48%. A greater produced more radicals chain, promoting crosslinking reactions, resulting in a higher complex viscosity. This and, thus, Additionally, increase affected stability MA‐grafted‐PBSA where decomposition temperature ⁓7°C, result improved effect. reduced chain regularity (MA‐g‐PBSA); therefore, crystallinity decreased. Gaining insight into impact can aid developing composites or blends enhanced miscibility performance.
