Cancer vaccines have a potential to change the current landscape of immunotherapy research and development. They target neutralize specific tumor cells by utilizing body's own immune system which offers promising modality in treating various cancers including lung cancer. Historically, prior vaccination approaches specifically towards cancer posed several challenges but also with early phase I/II trials showing improved overall survival. With better understanding as well advancements vaccine development, use both non-small cell (NSCLC) small (SCLC) has shown promise setting advanced stage cancers, resistance mechanisms, evasion, heterogeneity. The proposed solution is enroll patients stages disease, rather than waiting until progression occurs. Additionally, future efforts will focus on targeted identification novel neo-antigens. This review discussion analysis completed ongoing different strategies for development relation faced.
