Uncertainties about future climate and socioeconomic conditions challenge the design implementation of adaptation measures. Deterministic methods, although helpful in reducing uncertainty identifying optimal solutions, may fall short to identify flexible robust strategies under rapidly uncertain evolving circumstances. This is where decision-making approaches, such as Exploratory Modeling Analysis (EMA), can contribute. Despite its wide use other fields, application EMA change has been limited by complexity concepts methodologies. To address this gap, study introduces a framework that leverages conduct case on flood reduction Australia. Through EMA, systematically evaluates several scenarios policy options across thousands simulations set rather than few solutions. The results demonstrate multifaceted approach, which integrates infrastructure with nature-based not only reduces events but also contributes sustainability. Moreover, elucidates advantages limitations each option, enhancing process policies are best suited specific context. While centered risk management, principles methodologies broadly applicable, offering valuable insights for managing variety climate-related risks informing global strategies.
