VitD deficiency-risk factor pathologyHans-Klaus Goischke (2024) SARS-CoV-2 Infection and Multiple Sclerosis: Proactive Approach in a Vulnerable Patient Group through Daily Vitamin D Supplementation?rate was significantly lower than with values below or deficiency [17].Current data suggest protective role for VitD, particularly risk of intensive care unit admission reduced death [18,19].In addition, the occurrence Long-Covid is an aspect implementing this simple, effective, safe costeffective therapy broad therapeutic window prevention treatment .Although there still no indisputable evidence that Vit supplementation (VitD suppl.)reduces SARSCov-2 infection healthy individuals, collective it benefits vulnerable individuals [23].PwMS comorbidities, psychiatric illnesses, hypertension, obesity (an increased BMI may correlate severe course Covid-19), age > 50 years, disability methylprednisolone boost as well some DMTs (disease-modifying therapies) have higher COVID-19 courses [24-26].Infections (SARS-COV-2) can increase MS symptoms (pseudo-relapses) cause real relapses [27].In post-COVID syndrome (Long Covid), one eight patients presents such fatigue, shortness breath, cough, joint pain, chest muscle headache paresthesia limbs after at least 3 months. The latter also occur PwMS per se [28,29].If vitamin administration results infection, severity illness to people risk, occurs less frequently [18,19,21,22,30-33], not ethically justifiable withhold high dose vitamin-D from risk. Abstract COVID-19 posed a major challenge to the healthcare system and resources worldwide. The popularization of vaccines adoption numerous prevention control measures enabled gradual end pandemic. However, successive occurrence autoimmune diseases in patients with cannot be overlooked. Long COVID has been focus research due long duration different symptoms variety systems involved. Autoimmunity may play crucial role pathogenesis COVID. Here, we reviewed several disorders occurring after infection

Abstract Currently, the emergence of endemic Coronavirus disease (COVID‐19) situation still poses a serious threat to public health. However, it remains elusive about role fecal microbiota transplantation in treating COVID‐19. We performed randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled clinical trial enrolling cohort 40 COVID‐19 patients with mild‐moderate symptoms. Our results showed that provided an amelioration diarrhoea ( p = 0.026) digestive system and depression 0.006) neuropsychiatric‐related symptom patients, respectively. Meanwhile, we found number decreased from 19 0 on day 7 after treatment, was statistically changed compared placebo group 0.047). Of note, serum concentration aspartate aminotransferase‐to‐alanine aminotransferase ratio (AST/ALT, transplantation, pre vs. post: 0.966 0.817), biomarker for predicting long COVID‐19, significantly reduced by transplantation. In all, our study supports could be novel therapeutic strategy depressive symptoms, which is potentially valuable ameliorating

Post-COVID syndrome (PCS) patients have reported a wide range of symptoms, including fatigue, shortness breath, and diarrhea. Particularly, the presence gastrointestinal symptoms has led to hypothesis that gut microbiome is involved in development severity PCS. The objective this review provide an overview role PCS by describing microbial composition metabolites COVID-19 Moreover, host-microbe interactions via microbiota-gut-brain (MGB) microbiota-gut-lung (MGL) axes are described. Furthermore, we explore potential therapeutically targeting support recovery reviewing preclinical model systems clinical studies. Overall, current studies evidence microbiota affected PCS; however, diversity highly individual compositions suggest need for personalized medicine. Gut-targeted therapies, treatments with pre- probiotics, improve quality life individuals.
