Abstract Background Adolescent depression is increasing globally, and family conflict may contribute to its transmission across generations. However, longitudinal evidence on these dynamics remains sparse. This study examines the associations between adolescents’ parents’ depressive symptoms from three waves of data. Methods Data 2016–2020 China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) were analyzed, including 1,772 adolescents (Mean age = 12.4, SD 1.68 in 2016) their parents. was measured using questions adolescents, while assessed Center for Epidemiological Depression Scale (CESD). Abstract Background Low socioeconomic status (SES) during childhood is associated with higher levels of youth psychopathology. However, limited longitudinal work has examined the role both household and neighborhood SES in shaping mental health trajectories over time using population‐based data. The goal present study was to characterize associations between changes problems early adolescence. Methods We investigated independent joint income‐to‐needs ratio, parent educational attainment, material hardship, disadvantage internalizing, externalizing, attention symptom data from Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study. Given sex‐based differences ABCD study, analyses were conducted separately males females. assessed at baseline youth‐reported across six time‐points age 10–13 years ( M = 10.4, SD 0.63 years; first 6‐month follow‐up; N 9488). Results Main effects indicated that, general, high lower symptoms. longitudinally, increases relative SES. In females, while internalizing symptoms increased all income‐to‐needs, association most positive B 0.036, SE 0.008, p < 0.001). males, positively predicted externalizing 0.022, 0.007, 0.002) 0.023, 0.001) trajectories, linked income‐to‐needs. Low socioeconomic status (SES) is negatively associated with children's cognitive and academic performance, leading to long‐term educational economic disparities. In particular, SES a powerful predictor of executive function (EF), language ability, achievement. Despite extensive research documenting SES‐related differences in these domains, our understanding the mechanisms underlying associations factors that may mitigate relationships limited. Greenspace exposure is associated with positive mental health and academic outcomes. This preregistered longitudinal study examines whether the influence of greenspace on structural brain development partially explains these associations. We analyzed data from Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) (N=7102), to test relationship between at age 9-10 structure two years later, as well change over time. Additionally, we tested statistically mediated associations performance. was greater total surface area (SA) cortical volume (CV), thickness (CT) in temporal regions insula, lower caudal middle frontal superior gyri, SA across several regions, caudate nucleus, putamen, nucleus accumbens. Abstract Background Globally, youth mental health has been in decline since the beginning of 21st century. While much written about reasons for this, we have little understanding young people’s perspectives. A rich issues people identify as impacting their is essential developing effective interventions. This study aimed to explore what from Aotearoa, New Zealand believe impacts health, both positively and negatively, with a focus on social determinants. Methods 176 (16–25-year-olds, mean age 17) participated one 19 workshops held 2023. Our methodology was informed by participatory research methods developed consultation who served advisors. Workshops were across rural urban areas two regions Zealand. Recordings transcribed, combined survey responses, analysed through Reflexive Thematic Analysis. Results Four themes identified which perceived wellbeing: The world live , pressures experience connections need finding our path. All factors positive negative, ‘amplified’ media. Conclusions findings highlight intersecting systemic determinants wellbeing complex relationship an evolving digital landscape.
