Problematic internet use – often referred to as ‘internet addiction’ (IA) has become a public health concern globally and there are now many published studies examining the issue, particularly in relation wellbeing. However most previous on relationship between IA well-being have been conducted using variable-cantered approach with either indicators of ill-being (depression, stress, anxiety, loneliness), or only one dimension (happiness life satisfaction). Therefore, present study aimed address this research gap by investigating distinct dimensions hedonic eudaimonic simultaneously outcomes latent profiles, well sociodemographic variables stress antecedents. The profile were items Internet Disorder Scale. Data collected from 1202 participants (516 males), aged 19-59 years (M = 29.24 years, SD ± 9.40). results showed that four profiles emerged: 'Low risk IA' (56.4%), 'Medium moderately-high psychosocial impairments' (9.1%), poor internet-related self-control' (27.4%), 'High-risk (7.1%). Both profiles. high-risk had lowest levels both well-being. addiction criteria highest scores preoccupation, mood modification, jeopardizing social job opportunities. Age significant antecedents membership. Knowing values can be basis for developing tailored treatments maladaptive use. Moreover, measures could used assess therapeutic progress.

Background Internet addiction (IA) among students, worsened by Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, has become a social problem with the digitalization of school learning and many aspects daily life. However, few studies on IA have been conducted students after lifting COVID-19 restrictions in China. Method This large-sample, cross-sectional, online survey was to explore characteristics association IA, academic satisfaction, mental health problems from December 14, 2022 February 28, 2023 Sichuan, All participants ( N = 22,605) were colleges universities, recruited via their teachers professors. Results Of all participants, 14,921 (66.0%) had IA. Participants more likely depression symptom, anxiety insomnia, lifetime suicidal ideation. In addition, severe significantly higher rates (e.g., depression, anxiety, ideation) than those mild A significant IA-by-academic satisfactory-interaction identified: level showed particularly symptom insomnia when affected low satisfactory academy p < 0.001).
