Recent research has illuminated the complexity and importance of thalamocortical system but it been difficult to identify what computational functions performs. Meanwhile, deep-learning artificial neural networks (ANNs) based on bio-inspired models purely cortical circuits have achieved surprising success solving sophisticated cognitive problems associated historically with human intelligence. Behaving adaptively requires selection of relevant memories and sensations suppression competing ones. We hypothesized that these mechanisms are linked, such hippocampal computations resolve competition in memory also shape the precision sensory representations to guide selective attention. leveraged f MRI-based pattern similarity, receptive field modeling, eye tracking test this hypothesis humans performing a memory-dependent visual search task. In hippocampus, differentiation predicted memory-guided movements. cortex, preparatory coding remembered target locations successes, whereas failures due interference. These effects were linked: stronger was associated with lower competitor activation yielding more precise representations. results demonstrate role for shaping representations, highlighting links between overcome perception.

Introduction Obesity is a complex and multifactorial disease that has affected many adolescents in recent decades. Clinical practice guidelines recommend exercise as the key treatment option for with overweight obesity. However, effects of virtual reality (VR) on physical brain health obese remain unclear. This study aims to evaluate VR exercises outcomes explore differences benefits between them. Moreover, we will apply multiomics analysis investigate mechanism underlying Methods randomised controlled clinical trial include 220 obesity aged 11 17 years. The participants be into five groups after screening. Participants perform an programme by adding or table tennis soccer classes routine education schools three times week 8 weeks. control group maintain their usual activity. primary outcome change body fat mass measured using bioelectrical impedance analysis. secondary changes other health-related parameters, parameters variables. Ethics dissemination was approved Committee Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital registered Chinese Trial Registry.
