Transdermal delivery of sparingly soluble drugs is challenging due to their low solubility and poor permeability. Deep eutectic solvent (DES)/or ionic liquid (IL)-mediated nanocarriers are attracting increasing attention. However, most them require the addition auxiliary materials (such as surfactants or organic solvents) maintain stability formulations, which may cause skin irritation potential toxicity.

Abstract Chirality‐driven self‐sorting plays an essential role in controlling the biofunction of biosystems, such as chiral double‐helix structure DNA from self‐recognition by hydrogen bonding. However, achieving precise control over self‐sorted structures and their functional properties for bioinspired supramolecular systems still remains a challenge, not to mention realizing dynamically reversible regulation. Herein, we report unprecedented saucer[4]arene‐based charge transfer (CT) cocrystal system with synergistically induced triangular macrocycle organic vapors. It displays efficient chain length‐selective vapochromism toward alkyl ketones due modulation optical vapor‐induced diverse structural transformations. Experimental theoretical studies reveal that unique vapochromic behavior is mainly attributed formation homo‐ or heterochiral assemblies different ketone guests, which differ dramatically solid‐state superstructures CT interactions, thus influencing properties. This work highlights synthetic systems, rarely seen controllable at solid‐vapor interface deepens understanding sensors.

The separation of toluene (Tol) and pyridine (Py) azeotropes is significant in the chemical industry. Herein, we present a new method for energy-efficient Tol Py using pillar[5]arene-based adaptive macrocycle co-crystals (MCCs) that can selectively separate from Py/Tol equimolar mixture with 99.2% purity, accompanied by vapochromic behavior white to yellow.

Heteropolyacids can retain water in a proton exchange membrane to increase conductivity at high temperatures and low humidity; however, their solubility leads leaching, which limits further application. Herein, we used phosphotungstic acid (HPW) polydopamine (PDA) particles prepare water-insoluble PDA/HPW hybrid (PDW) via hydrothermal reaction. The amino groups of PDA PDW chemically bonded HPW acted as an anchor for HPW. the sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) composite containing 15wt% (SPEEK/PDW-15) liquid was 0.052 S⸱cm–1 25 ℃, 63% higher than that SPEEK control (0.032 S⸱cm–1). SPEEK/PDW-15 also showed stable during 80 days testing while immersed water.

Cell penetrating peptides (CPPs) are usually positive charged and have good cell membrane permeability. Meanwhile, CPPs facile to synthesize, can be functionalized satisfy different demands, such as cyclization, incorporating unnatural amino acids, lipid conjugation. These properties made them efficient drug-delivery tools deliver therapeutic molecules cells tissues in a nontoxic manner, including small molecules, DNA, siRNA, proteins other various nanoparticles. However, the poor serum stability low tumor targeting ability also hindered their broad application. Besides, inappropriate chemical modification lead disruption nonspecific toxicity. In this paper, we first reviewed recent advances CPP applications for cancer therapy via covalent or non-covalent manners. We carefully analyzed advantages disadvantages of each modifications drug delivery. Then, concluded progress clinical trials diseases. Finally, discussed challenges opportunities met translate into applications. This review presented new insight delivery, which could provide advice on design clinically effective systemic delivery systems using CPPs.

The planar bis-chelated complex [Pd(N∩O)2] (1; N∩O = 4-MeC5H3NNC(O)NMe2) exhibits two distinct stacking modes with electron-deficient aromatics: π···π hexafluorobenzene (C6F6) versus charge-transfer π–hole interactions 1,2,4,5-tetracyanobenzene (TCB). Cocrystallization of the C6F6 or TCB yields cocrystals 1·3(C6F6) and 1·2TCB, respectively, which display different colors patterns despite similar structural motifs. Comprehensive analysis using X-ray diffraction, combined quantum theory atoms-in-molecules (QTAIM), an independent gradient model based on Hirshfeld partition (IGMH), extended transition state natural orbital for chemical valence charge displacement function (ETS-NOCV/CDF), many-body interaction analysis, symmetry-adapted perturbation (SAPT), reveals fundamentally mechanisms. In 1·3(C6F6), is primarily governed by intermolecular polarization without significant transfer, dispersion forces contributing approximately 70% attractive energy. contrast, 1·2TCB pronounced transfer (35 me) inductive components alongside forces, characteristic interactions. This dichotomy in behavior provides new insights into nature organic–inorganic assemblies demonstrates that seemingly can arise from distinctly combinations noncovalent essential rational crystal engineering hybrid materials.
