Patient and Public Involvement Model in Healthcare AI Ethics: Based on Scoping Review and Methodological Reflections DOI Open Access

To apply healthcare AI ethics in clinical and research settings, self-regulatory frameworks emphasize the necessity of external validation. Building on theoretical discussions that justify patients public as key actors this validation process, article conducts a scoping review patient involvement (PPI) proposes model for their engagement. A search was conducted academic databases using keywords “AI” “patient involvement.” Out 114 studies were identified, 16 selected review; consisted four reviews, eight empirical studies, papers. The confirmed ongoing PPI AI, but highlighted lack detailed implementation strategies. This suggests participatory design, literacy, citizen science models potential approaches engagement, discussing possibilities limitations.
