DNA methylation is one of the most important epigenetic mechanisms to regulate gene expression, which highly dynamic during development and specifically maintained in somatic cells. Aberrant patterns are strongly associated with human diseases including cancer. How cell-specific established or disturbed a pivotal question developmental biology cancer epigenetics. Currently, compelling evidence has emerged that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) mediates both physiological pathological conditions. In this review, we provide an overview current understanding lncRNA-mediated methylation, emphasis on roles mechanism cancer, best our knowledge, not been systematically summarized. addition, also discuss potential clinical applications RNA-targeting drug development.
