Abstract Waves, rivers, and tides shape delta morphology. Recent studies have enabled predictions of their relative influence on deltas globally, but methods associated uncertainties remain poorly known. Here, we address that gap show how to quantify morphology within the Galloway ternary diagram river, wave, tidal sediment fluxes. We assess compared observations for 31 globally find a median error 4% (standard deviation 11%) in tide, or wave‐driven Relative are greatest mixed‐process (e.g., Sinu, 49%) tend decrease end‐member morphologies where either river fluxes dominate Fly, 0.2%). Prediction morphologic metrics more considerable: shoreline protrusion angles set by wave 45%, channel widening from 25%, number distributary channels 86%. Larger sources prediction uncertainty (a) data, example, slopes modulate fluxes, (b) data flux distribution between individual outlets, (c) theoretical basis behind fluvial dominance. Broadly, these will help improve natural anthropogenic forces affect change.
