Background/Objectives: We aimed to identify neonatal circulating metabolic alterations associated with maternal gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and explore whether these altered metabolites could mediate the association of GDM offspring neurodevelopment. Additionally, we investigated improve prediction neurodevelopmental disorders over traditional risk factors. Methods: The retrospective cohort study enrolled 1228 mother–child dyads in South China. was diagnosed at 24–28 weeks gestation. Neonatal amino acids lipid (carnitines) were measured from newborn heel blood 3–7 days postpartum. Offspring neurodevelopment assessed age 1 year using Children Neuropsychological Behavioral Examination Scale. Neurodevelopmental defined as developmental delay any domain scale. Results: Twenty-one identified, consisting seven fourteen carnitines. Among metabolites, five (glycine, myristicylcarnitine, palmitoylcarnitine, octadecadienoylcarnitine, 3-hydroxypalmitylcarnitine) mediated negative (mediation proportions: 3.91–10.66%). Furthermore, six methionine, malonylcarnitine, isovalerylcarnitine, octadecadienoylcarnitine) significantly increased predictive performance for factors including GDM, parity, infant sex, birth weight, feeding patterns (area under curve: 0.762 vs. 0.718, p = 0.012). Conclusions: a variety acid circulation, among which certain adverse outcomes offspring. Moreover, some may serve potential biomarkers that improved other

Abstract Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a microvascular complication of diabetes, affecting 34.6% diabetes patients worldwide. Early detection and timely treatment can effectively improve the prognosis DR. Metabolomic analysis provides powerful tool for studying pathophysiological processes. Conducting metabolomic analyses on DR‐related biofluids helps identify differential metabolic expressions during disease progression, thereby discovering potential biomarkers to support clinical diagnosis treatment. Here, an innovative workflow vitreous liquid established, machine learning‐based DR platform integrating fingerprint (VL‐MF) plasma (P‐MF) derived via nanoparticle enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry developed. Direct VL‐MF P‐MF are obtained with desirable reproducibility (coefficient variation, CV <5%) remarkable speed (3 s per sample), distinguished from healthy controls applying dual biofluid‐MF area under curve (AUC) 0.957. Moreover, biomarker candidate panel AUC 0.945 constructed related pathways identified by metabolomics pathway (MetPA). This work offers multi‐biofluid that not only contribute but also provide solid references other applications.

Abstract This study presents a novel boron‐difluoride complex‐based fluorescent nanofilm sensor capable of detecting sarin vapors in the environment by reporting an output fluorescence signal. The sensor's evaluation demonstrated exceptionally low detection limit for vapor, even presence various interfering gases, with theoretical and practical limits 0.7 1 ppb, respectively. featured rapid response time (less than 2 s), broad linear range (1 ppb–1000 ppm), superior selectivity vapor over group analytes, outperforming existing sensors. Mechanistic indicates that heightened sensitivity to is due robust affinity nitrogen atoms within core BODIQ unit sarin. Additionally, tetraphenylethylene structure steric hindrance effectively inhibits tight packing derivatives, forms numerous microporous structures self‐assembled nanofilm, which are beneficial mass transfer, enhancing efficiency vapors. Furthermore, we have achieved differentiation sarin, diethyl chlorophosphate, HCl through analysis sensing kinetic. opens new avenues sustainable, low‐cost, environment‐friendly portable devices, as well environmental monitoring tracking applications.

Abstract Introduction Sepsis is a highly morbid condition characterized by multi-organ dysfunction resulting from dysregulated inflammation in response to acute infection. Mitochondrial may contribute sepsis pathogenesis, but quantifying mitochondrial remains challenging. Objective To assess the extent which circulating markers of are increased septic shock, and their relationship severity mortality. Methods We performed both full-scan targeted (known genetic disease) metabolomics on plasma determine distinguish subjects with shock (n = 42) cardiogenic without infection 19), bacteremia 18), ambulatory controls 19) – latter three being conditions function, proxied peripheral oxygen consumption, presumed intact. Results Nine metabolites were significantly compared all comparator groups. This list includes N -formyl- l -methionine (f-Met), marker protein translation, -lactoyl-phenylalanine (lac-Phe), representative -lactoyl-amino acids (lac-AAs), elevated patients monogenic disease. Compared lactate, clinical biomarker used define there was greater separation between survivors non-survivors for f-Met lac-AAs measured within 24 h ICU admission. Additionally, tryptophan one metabolite decreased other groups, while its breakdown product kynurenate 9 increased. Conclusion Future studies validate measurement conjunction lactate could subtype dysfunction.
