As the urban population continues to expand and is expected comprise 80% of total in 2050, it crucial ensure sustainability energy efficiency cities. Among all homes globally, Hard-to-Decarbonize (HtD) buildings are estimated be a quarter them. Identifying HtD houses proposing strategies for these important reach global net zero target. However, study has historically been neglected. Previous studies mainly focus on simulating, predicting understanding attributes that directly related usage efficiency. In this research, methodology identifying with publicly available data proposed tested Cambridge, UK. A dataset Cambridge organized, criteria derived from Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), which results detailed inspections houses. Street view images (SVI), aeriel (AVI), land surface temperature (LST), building stock used together prediction deep learning. The classification precision able achieve 82%. This also explores minimal needed high-accuracy Results show SVI contributes most prediction.

Abstract Identifying drivers of climate misinformation on social media is crucial to action. Misinformation comes in various forms; however, subtler strategies, such as emphasizing favorable interpretations events or data reframing conversations fit preferred narratives, have received little attention. This data-driven paper examines online and sustainability communication behavior over 7 years (2014–2021) across three influential stakeholder groups consisting eight fossil fuel firms (industry), 14 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), inter-governmental (IGOs). We examine historical Twitter interaction ( n = 668,826) using machine learning-driven joint-sentiment topic modeling vector autoregression measure interactions influences amongst these groups. report key findings. Abstract The existing research on the associations between climate change-related events and mental well-being outcomes warrants several gaps. These studies either used a mono approach such as cross-sectional surveys or focused clinical health outcomes. Moreover, underlying mechanism channelling changing real-time emotional well their pro-environmental action were seldom studied. This study aimed to address these gaps by integrating multiple data sources, including social media posts about change Weibo (n = 76,514), regional meteorological (n(records) 216,476), vulnerability in China. proposed tested novel linking factors through three cognitive responses (thinking styles, affiliations, somatosensory experiences), explored relationships with individuals’ tendencies. Additionally, this examined moderating role of seasonal effects impact public well-being. results revealed that extreme hot days hotter temperatures associated more negative lower tendencies mediated analytical-intuitive thinking style, experiences moderated seasons population density. implications findings for communication intervention discussed, emphasizing enhance coping abilities promote behaviours.

Published: Jan. 1, 2024

This research explores the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPASs) in assessing Masonry Quality Index (MQI) on historic masonry structures and employing machine learning to evaluate MQI's components. The MQI is a standard for gauging strength without destructive methods, using factors such as stone type, size, condition. Traditionally assessed through visual inspection manual measurements, this attempts automate process Python Keras image recognition identify construction characteristics damage. RPASs facilitate by capturing images analysis, potentially streamlining assessment reducing field time surveyors accessing hard-to-reach areas. Although study reveals limitations modelling every parameter alone, it identifies which parameters can be accurately modelled suggests alternative approaches evaluating others, highlighting potential constraints applying technology architectural conservation.

ABSTRACT Despite extensive research on energy justice, little has been written about whether scholarly discourse justice translated into public social media discourse. This paper addresses this gap by examining Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) communications media. To date, study is the first utilizing network analysis (SNA) and computational methods to examine messaging related SDG7 Twitter (currently known as X) identify central topics associated with communications. The data used include 6059 tweets containing “#sdg7,” resulting in a hashtag co‐occurrence 2769 nodes 22,667 edges. It shows that while SDG goals, like 3 good health well‐being, themes, such solar African issues, are often discussed alongside SDG7, justice‐related issues racial important transition perspectives, or just transitions, less frequently linked it sphere. findings suggest need better integrate conversations shape more inclusive impactful policies.
