Abstract In this study, two organic molecues namely, [4-(4-aminobenzoyl)-piperazin-1-yl)] furan − 2-yl) methanone (4-4-ABPFM) and 4-(4-aminophenylpiperazin-1-yl) furan-2-yl) (4-4-APPFM) were synthesized characterized using FTIR, UV-visible, thin layer chromatography, C-13 proton NMR. The corrosion inhibition efficiencies of these molecules tested weight loss, polarization AC impedance methods. Quantum chemical calculations (which included local selectivity, global reactivity Monte Carlo simulation) also implemented to complement the experimental data. results obtained provided information confirmed that compound has some inherent potentials due presence aromatic rings, pi-electron systems, heteroatoms structure parameters. maximum 95 91% for 4,4-ABPFM 4,4-APPFM respectively. ideal fitness Langmuir isotherm with slope R 2 values approximating unity was upheld. Theoretical calculation showed strong accord supported higher efficiency than 4,4-APPFM. simulation adsorption energy is negative evidence drawn from experiment, which spontaneous inhibitors on metal surface.

Corrosion is a challenging and potentially harmful process that involves the continuing, impulsive deterioration of metallic structures via reactions involving environmental components electro- or chemical processes. To inhibit corrosion, various additives are added. Traditional additives, on other hand, contain environmentally hazardous substances. Surfactants less expensive, easier to manufacture, have high inhibitory efficacy low toxicity compared standard corrosion inhibitors. They often employed as inhibitors protect materials against corrosion. Surfactant molecules' amphiphilic nature promotes adsorption at surfaces such metal/metal oxide-water interface. metals metal oxides forms barrier can prevent This review surfactants aims offer systemic evaluation surfactant physical properties, influence in inhibition, used inhibition be enhance use variety environments. The corrosion of metals is very important, both economically and environmentally, a serious concern. Since the past decades, traditional (chemical) inhibitors to prevent have been are still being used. Although these can be said good choice among other protection techniques because their efficiency, toxicity many them causes environmental problems, and, due change in laws on use chemicals, no longer allowed. Hence, during years, research green (GCIs) increased favorable results were obtained, now they popular. It that biodegradability easy preparation most important factors. Meanwhile, plants, especially extracts, has studied lot. Plant extracts contain compounds anti-corrosion properties. In this review, plants as GCIs investigated, focusing recent advances use. Also, phenomenon corrosion, (including coatings, nanoparticles, chemical inhibitors), briefly reviewed.
