The sorption of certain lanthanides from aqueous solutions is the focus this work using antimony oxide (Sb2O5) sorbent. Sb2O5 sorbent was prepared precipitation technique, and it has been described several analytical methods such as Fourier-transformed infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM). data were collected on Y(III), Ce(III), Gd(III) including effects pH, shaking time, initial metal concentrations, temperature. results revealed that saturation capacity values (30.6, 27.5, 24.1 mg/g) for Gd(III), respectively. studied cations dependent pH. reaction kinetics obeyed pseudo-2nd-order model, thermodynamics endothermic spontaneous. Sorption isotherms are more relevant to a Langmuir isotherm, whose monolayer 27.9, 23.2, 19.8 mg/g real sample applications illustrate superiority in removal high-grade monazite (HGM).
