Abstract Purpose Serum fibrinogen and albumin play important roles in systemic inflammation are implicated tumor progression. The fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio (FAR) has shown a prognostic impact several malignancies. This study aims to assess the value of pretherapeutic FAR patients with adenocarcinoma gastroesophageal junction (AEG) who underwent upfront resection. Methods Consecutive surgical resection at Department Surgery Medical University Vienna between 1992 2014 were included into this study. Optimal cut-off values determined receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve, uni- multivariate analyzes calculated by Cox proportional hazard regression model for overall survival (OS). Results Among 135 patients, majority male (79.26%), mean age 66.53 years. Elevated correlated significantly ( p = 0.002) shorter OS univariate analysis, also confirmed as independent factor 0.005) multivariable analysis. ROC curve (AUC 0.744) outperformed 0.738) 0.378) predicting AEG patients. Conclusion serves an undergoing primarily AEG. Given its routine availability ease calculation, could help diagnosis treatment selection Further validation studies warranted confirm these findings conclusively.

Research on the link between inflammatory indicators and markers of bone metabolism is currently lacking, especially interaction Procollagen type 1 N-terminal propeptide (P1NP), β-C-terminal telopeptide collagen (β-CTX), fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio (FAR). This study intends to fill that knowledge gap by investigating possible metabolism. observational included 718 individuals diagnosed with osteoporotic fractures from Kunshan Hospital Affiliated Jiangsu University January 2017 July 2022. After accounting for several confounders, independent connection FAR levels β-CTX P1NP was investigated via Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE). On top that, we used a generalized additive model (GAM) find any non-linear correlations, two-piecewise linear regression threshold effects in smoothing curves came out it. To ensure aforementioned result stable, subgroup analysis carried out. The results showed positive correlation [β = 1.077, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.24 1.92, P 0.012]. study's findings demonstrated fit an inverted U-shaped pattern, inflection point K 0.0685 detected. below (β 306.10, CI: 47.37 564.83, 0.021), negative beyond -117.57, -231.34 -3.80, 0.043). revealed women had more significant association than men. provide useful insights into potential may novel clinical implication introducing as reference indicator assessing health, offering cost-effective conveniently obtainable biomarker monitor inflammation improve treatment osteoporosis.
