This review explores the potential health benefits and applications of phenolic secoiridoids derived from olive oil by-products in prevention Alzheimer's disease (AD). As reviewed herein, polyphenols, such as epigallocatechin-3-gallate, epicatechin, resveratrol, show vitro vivo antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective properties, are particularly relevant context AD, a leading cause dementia globally. The industry, Mediterranean region, produces significant amounts waste, including leaves, pomace, wastewater, which pose environmental challenges but also offer an untapped source bioactive compounds. Despite promising studies indicating that olive-derived oleuropein hydroxytyrosol, may mitigate AD pathology, human clinical trials remain limited. variability extraction methods complex nature further complicate research. Honeybee pollen is the most important food and protein source for bees. It a highly nutritious natural product humans due to its content. Pollen shows different phytochemical content variable biological activity according geography vegetation. Therefore, in this study, comprehensive by LC-MS/MS, antioxidant properties assays, with enzyme inhibition potential; antidiabetic, anticholinergic, antiglaucoma properties, were determined from sample Bingöl province, one of significant beekeeping centers Türkiye. As result 15 metabolites determined, highest concentration quinic acid (1.531 mg analyte/g extract) was found. Antioxidant results: total phenolic 113.14 GAE/g, flavonoid 64.11 QE/g, Fe3+ reduction 0.43 μg/mL, CUPRAC 0.511 FRAP 0.976 DPPH IC50: 1.06 ABTS 0.933 DMPD 0.598 μg/mL. In addition, showed antiglaucoma, antidiabetic inhibiting carbonic anhydrase isoenzyme II (hCA II), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), α- amylase enzymes, respectively. it that has and, first time, inhibits hCA II, AChE, α-amylase enzymes.

A novel library of N-benzylphenoselenazine derivatives 8a-j were designed, synthesized, and evaluated as inhibitors amyloid-beta (Aβ42) aggregation. In the thioflavin T-based fluorescence aggregation kinetics assay, compounds 8i 8j exhibited excellent inhibition Aβ42 (∼91% at 25 μM), activity was comparable to that reference agents resveratrol (∼88%) methylene blue (∼95% inhibition). Both also demonstrated disaggregation properties (58% 76% respectively μM) antioxidant (80.5% 59% μM). cell culture studies, both able reduce Aβ42-mediated cytotoxicity. Computational studies suggest these interact in a narrow channel formed by N- C-termini pentamer model stabilize assembly prevent further These results demonstrate viability N-benzylphenoselenazines promising candidates target amyloid cascade Alzheimer's disease.

Abstract This study explores the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using a methanolic extract fermented pollen from Tetragonisca angustula , species stingless bees. The AgNPs exhibit spherical morphology, low charge values, and suspension stability, with their unique composition attributed to elements extract. Antioxidant assays show comparable activity between AgNPs, emphasizing retention antioxidant effects. synthesized demonstrate antimicrobial against multidrug-resistant bacteria, highlighting potential in combating bacterial resistance. no toxic effects on Drosophila melanogaster even enhance hatching rate eggs. underscores innovative use bee synthesis, offering insights into varied applications biomedicine.
