Background Coronary artery disease (CAD) outcomes are influenced by social determinants, including marital status. However, research on the sex-specific effects of status CAD is limited. This study aimed to evaluate relationship between and clinical patients with stratified according sex in Korea. Methods A total 3476 who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were enrolled this retrospective observational study. Patients categorized into married nonmarried groups based demographic data at time admission. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality. Results Among population, 20.7% women 11.5% men PCI for nonmarried. For 87.1% women, cause being death a spouse, whereas 48.3% unmarried men, most common unmarried. During median follow-up 53.3 months, analysis using Cox proportional hazard regression model, associated higher [adjusted ratio (HR): 2.24, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.22–4.09, P = 0.009] cardiovascular (adjusted HR: 2.63, CI: 19.91–5.80, 0.017) deaths but not women. Conclusion Marital independently predicted adverse highlighting importance approaches assessment determinants care. Background Individuals with chronic kidney disease are at markedly increased risk of incident cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and premature death. The impact social isolation on adverse outcomes in remained understudied. Methods This prospective cohort study included 13 090 individuals from the UK Biobank. exposure was categorized into 3 levels: least, moderately, most isolated. Using accelerated failure time restricted mean survival analyses. Results Compared being least isolated, moderate associated acceleration all‐cause death a ratio 0.87 (95% CI, 0.82–0.93; P <0.001) 0.76 0.70–0.82; <0.001), respectively, differences 49.1 71.6 days within 10 years. We observed marginal association (time ratio, 0.93 [95% 0.87–0.99]; =0.039) 0.79–0.96]; =0.005) CVD. But significant only for stroke, not coronary artery disease. Based pathways revealed by directed acyclic graph constructed using Bayesian network, we conducted inverse odds ratio–weighted mediation to decompose total effect death, found that CVD sarcopenia mediated 21.8% 7.1–43.0) Conclusions Social is shortened accelerates onset support warrants attention prevention these high‐risk individuals.

Published: June 5, 2025

Objective: We aimed to estimate the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and cardiometabolic (CMB) in Brazil, their relationship with a healthy lifestyle score based on six pillars medicine proposed by American College Lifestyle Medicine. Methods: Data were derived from 2019 Brazilian National Health Survey, nationwide cross-sectional study. The CVDs/CMB was medical-endorsed, self-reported diagnoses weighted for sample strata. A (0-14 points; higher score, better) incorporates physical activity, diet, sleep, mental health, risky substance use, social connections. Results: Among 88,531 adults included analysis (mean age: 47.1 years; 52.9% female), ranged 1.9% (stroke) 25.9% (hypertension). Weighted Poisson regression models, adjusted age, sex, socioeconomic status, geographic disparities, showed an inverse linear between prevalence. Participants highest quartile exhibited lower heart [0.48 (95% CI: 0.43, 0.53)], stroke [0.35 0.29, 0.43)], hypertension [0.85 0.80, 0.90)], diabetes [0.80 0.70, 0.91)], dyslipidemia [0.73 0.66, 0.80)], obesity [0.81 0.74, 0.88)], compared lowest ( P < 0.001 all). Conclusions: Higher scores are associated major Brazil.
