High-quality development (HQD) and ecosystem service value (ESV) are among the most prominent topics in China today. Understanding dynamic coupling coordination relationship between HQD ESV is significant for achieving global urban sustainability goals. This study breaks traditional paradigm of economic ecological research. By measuring 292 Chinese cities from 2000 to 2021, we construct a degree (CCD) model profoundly investigate changes, coordination, underlying reasons theoretical spatiotemporal perspectives. The results indicate that: (1) has undergone phased changes shown improvement, with evident agglomeration characteristics centered around clusters. (2) distribution characteristic cities: low eastern coastal areas high inland areas, which negatively correlated GDP. (3) CCD exhibits clear trend. Spatially, relatively lower higher northeastern southwestern cities. (4) combining spatial autocorrelation results, classified into four categories: Green innovation, resource optimization, potential, protection.

Since the Anthropocene, ecosystems have been continuously deteriorating due to global climate change and human intervention. Exploring changing characteristics of land use/land cover (LULC), landscape pattern ecosystem service (ES) their drivers is crucial for regional management sustainable development. Taking Bohai Rim region China as an example, we used use transfer matrix, index InVEST model analyze LULC, six key ESs [crop production (CP), water yield (WY), carbon storage (CS), soil conservation (SC), habitat quality (HQ), aesthetics (LA)] during 2000–2020. Detailed analysis natural anthropogenic factors affecting ES changes has considered in this study. The results show that areas forest, impervious increased, while those cropland, shrubs, grassland barren decreased was fragmented, complex decentralized 2000–2015, three trends eased 2015–2020. From 2000 2020, CP, WY, SC capacity increasing trend, CS, HQ, LA tend a decline. Natural (e.g., precipitation, temperature, altitude) technological progress, policy changes, LULC forms) are main ESs. present study can provide theoretical basis ecological restoration, product value realization, planning typical developed urban area.
