ABSTRACT Opuntia ficus‐indica (OFI) has attracted much attention as a source of antioxidant and antiinflammatory compounds. We hypothesize that the content OFI cladode extract may improve adipocyte dysfunction resulting from inflammatory stimulation hypertrophic adipocytes. To this end, properties hydroalcoholic were evaluated in terms activity, regulation inflammation, adipocyte/monocyte interaction human adipocytes rendered dysfunctional by proinflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor‐α (TNF‐α). The major phenolic compounds identified isorhamnetin derivatives acids, including piscidic eucomic acids. Our results show exhibits antiradical activities reduces adhesion transmigration activity monocytes to inflamed inhibiting various cytokines, chemokines, molecules such interleukin (IL)‐6 IL‐8 ∼80%, monocyte chemotactic protein (MCP)‐1, C‐X‐C motif chemokine ligand (CXC‐L)10, macrophage colony‐stimulating factor (M‐CSF) 40% 50%, intercellular molecule‐1 (ICAM‐1) 70% at higher concentration. In structurally mechanistically protein–ligand docking profiling study, acid proved be best potential candidate for regulatory with nuclear erythroid 2‐related 2 (NRF‐2) factor‐κB (NF‐κB). summary, these data highlight dietary supplement nutritional treatments aimed combating stigmata obesity.
