ABSTRACT A deeper understanding of the molecular processes involved in psychological wellbeing older adults is essential for advancing knowledge underlying biological mechanisms. Leveraging proteomics data from 3,262 (mean age=63.5 years, 55% female) English Longitudinal Study Ageing (ELSA), we investigated cross-sectional and longitudinal associations (before after protein measurement) between 276 proteins eudaimonic wellbeing, hedonic life satisfaction, depressive symptoms, over 20-year span. For positive two (DEFB4A ECE1) were longitudinally associated with subsequent trajectory. We further identified higher concentrations 7, 8, 2 linked to lower respectively. Sex differences XCL1 SLAMF7 observed, males. These findings link human regulation several pathways, particularly involving cytokine regulation, neurotrophic signaling, inflammatory immune systems.
