Land-use/land-cover change is an essential factor for understanding the ecological degradation of forests under threat from different climatic and human-mediated activities. This study investigates biodiversity significance Kaziranga Tiger Reserve, situated in Brahmaputra floodplain Assam, India, known its rich flora fauna. Despite importance biodiversity, reserve faces increasing threats habitat fragmentation, human-wildlife conflict, poaching, impacts climate change, necessitating a thorough examination dynamics. assesses land-use land-cover changes 1913 to 2023, by analyzing on assessing relationship between trends loss. The methods involving geometric radiometric corrections historical maps satellite images, identified key LULC classes such as agriculture, forest, waterbodies, settlements grasslands. Climate were analyzed using statistical methods, including Theil-Sen estimator Mann-Kendall test, determine significant changes. analysis indicated 15% increase agricultural land 10% decline forest cover, primarily due encroachment conversion farming. Furthermore, correlation revealed that variability, rainfall soil moisture, significantly influenced conversion, driving expansion while restricting emphasizes critical management approaches link monitoring with resilience efforts, reaching need collaborative conservation initiatives safeguard reserve’s unique maintain functions.
