Halide perovskites have attracted enormous attention due to their potential applications in optoelectronics and photocatalysis. However, concerns over instability, toxicity, unsatisfactory efficiency necessitated the development of lead-free all-inorganic halide perovskites. A major challenge designing efficient for practical is lack effective methods producing nanocrystals with precise size shape control. In this work, a layered perovskite, Cs4ZnSb2Cl12 (CZS), found from calculations exhibit size- facet-dependent optoelectronic properties nanoscale, thus, colloidal method used synthesize CZS nanoparticles size-tunable morphologies: zero- (nanodots), one- (nanowires nanorods), two- (nanoplates), three-dimensional (nanopolyhedra). The growth kinetics nanostructures, along effects surface ligands, reaction temperature, time were investigated. varied quantum confinement anisotropy within crystals exposure specific facets. These could be modulated enhance visible-light photocatalytic performance toluene oxidation. particular, 9.7 nm nanoplates displayed benzaldehyde conversion rate 1893 μmol g-1 h-1 (95% selectivity), 500 times higher than bulk synthesized CZS, comparable reported photocatalysts. This study demonstrates integration theoretical synthesis, revealing an approach design fabrication novel, high-performance perovskite applications.
